Chris Inclan, an alcohol and drug counselor from Sonoma, Calif., voted for the Green Party candidate Jill Stein in 2016. In 2020 he backed Andrew Yang in the Democratic primary and cast a ballot for Donald Trump in the general election. Joe Biden, he said, was “so ingrained in the establishment and politics as usual,” while Trump “went against the grain on a lot of issues,” including wars and government regulation. I met Inclan at the Oakland rally where Kennedy introduced his new running mate, the 38-year-old political donor Nicole Shanahan. Held in the auditorium of the Henry J. But what if I told you this group shrunk its share count dramatically since 2019? The numbers tell the story: Lennar now has 276 million shares outstanding, down from 318 million five years ago. Other than Toll, most of the homebuilder management teams do not emphasize this fundamental change in share count. Management has been buying hand over fist since 2019, shrinking the share count to 215 million from 264 million. My rather unassailable conclusion is pretty simple: Check the share count before you buy a stock.

XHB YTD mountain Homebuilding ETF has surged more than 15% this year. The SPDR S & P Homebuilders ETF (XHB) has rallied nearly 17% year to date and about 70% over the past year. Luxury vacation home co-ownership platform Pacaso is attempting to appeal to the masses, as it grows its business during a pricey and competitive phase of the housing market. The company, which launched in 2020 with multimillion-dollar homes listed for co-ownership, is now introducing thousands more listings with share prices starting as low as $200,000. Pacaso lists shares of vacation homes, generally an eighth but sometimes larger shares, and then facilitates the purchase, including financing if necessary. Unlike timeshares in resorts, where consumers buy the time, not the property, Pacaso owners can benefit from the home's value, which usually goes up over time. So the Pacaso shares generally track with the underlying real estate," said Allison.

It may not be investors' first idea when thinking of home improvement stocks, but Loop Capital sees Best Buy as an under-the-radar pick as the housing market improves. "We were encouraged by the latest macroeconomic data, particularly the ongoing labor market strength and the housing market 'green shoots,'" Chukumba wrote to clients. Chukumba said home furnishing retailers such as Floor & Decor , RH and Williams-Sonoma should also benefit as the housing market improves. Best Buy shares have struggled this year, shedding about 2% and lagging far behind the rest of the market.
